Final memorandum on Iran-Armenia rail construction signed

PanARMENIAN.Net - Final memorandum on construction of Iran-Armenia railroad was signed in Tehran by Iranian Minister of Roads and Transportation Hamid Behbahani and Armenian Minister of Transport and Communications Gurgen Sargsyan, TV5 TV channel reported. The interim memorandum was signed on April 3, 2009.

The railroad will extend for 470 km. 60 km will be in Iran, the rest will go through Armenia. Construction will be carried out in several stages.The line will help Armenia use alternative routes for transportation of energy sources and goods.
