ARMENIA URGES EUROPEAN COUNCIL TO APPLY SANCTIONS AGAINST AZERBAIJAN FOR HAMPERING REGIONAL COOPERATION DEVELOPMENT

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian party has called the Council of Europe to impose sanctions against Azerbaijan for rejection of the official Yerevan's suggestion regarding regional cooperation development. At the meeting with the CE leadership in Strasbourg, the Armenian parliamentary delegation discussed two key questions - the presence of the CE observers at the forthcoming elections in Armenia and the question of the appointment of the reporter on Nagorno-Karabakh. The Armenian delegation discussed the issues of the regional cooperation at the meeting with PACE Chairman Peter Shider. He was interested with internal political situation in Armenia, Karabakh conflict settlement process, opportunities of establishment of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Armenia. At the meeting with the CE Committee of Ministers chairman Lydie Polfer it was noted that CE Committee of Ministers emphasize the cooperation in the South Caucasus. June 27, within the frameworks of the PACE summer session the issue of refugees and forced migrants in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia is discussed.
