Thousands in Karabakh deprived of proper nutrition, says HRD

PanARMENIAN.Net - Thousands of people with special dietary requirements in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) don't have access to proper nutrition, Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan reveals, amid Azerbaijan's blockade of Karabakh for over 20 days now.

"Due to the Artsakh blockade by Azerbaijan, thousands of people with special diets in various facilities (kindergartens, hospitals, psychiatric centers, orphanages, nursing homes etc ) are deprived of the right to proper nutrition," Stepanyan wrote on social media on January 1.

For over 20 days now, the key road has been blocked by Azerbaijanis who claim to be environmentalists. Azerbaijan had also deprived the people of Karabakh of gas supplies.

Armenia has filed a lawsuit against Azerbaijan in the International Court of Justice within the proceedings of the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, Armenia's Representative on International Legal matters Yeghishe Kirakosyan has said.
