ICRC helps three Karabakh patients reach Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The International Committee of the Red Cross has facilitated the transfer of three patients from Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia, the NKR InfoCenter reveals.

Since December 12, the sole road connecting Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia - the Lachin Corridor - has been blockeed by self-described Azerbaijani environmentalists. Karabakh residents have reported food and fuel shortages, while hospital patients don't have access to essential medicines, with only a handful allowed transfer to facilities in Armenia proper.

One of the patients is a 2-month-old baby with Down syndrome, while the other two are adults with an infected AC joint cyst and acute leukemia.
