Lachin Corridor discussed during Armenia-Lithuania contacts![]() January 26, 2023 - 13:17 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On January 25, the Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, had a telephone conversation with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda's Chief National Security Adviser, Kestutis Budrys. Grigoryan presented to his colleague the situation created in Nagorno Karabakh as a result of the blocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan and the daily worsening humanitarian crisis. A. Grigoryan highlighted the reaction of the international community in resolving the situation. During the telephone conversation, the interlocutors also discussed issues of mutual interest. Since December 12, the sole road connecting Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia - the Lachin Corridor - has been blocked by self-described Azerbaijani environmentalists. Karabakh residents have reported food and fuel shortages, while hospital patients don't have access to essential medicines, with only a handful allowed transfer to facilities in Armenia proper. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
