ICRC helps 19 Karabakh residents reunite with families in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - 19 people have been transferred from Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Said people will be reunited with their families.

Since December 12, the sole road connecting Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia - the Lachin Corridor - has been blocked by self-described Azerbaijani environmentalists. Karabakh residents have reported food and fuel shortages, while hospital patients don't have access to essential medicines, with only a handful allowed transfer to facilities in Armenia proper.

For almost two months now, over 1100 people, including 270 children, have been stranded in Armenia.
