Key Belgium parliament committee urges Baku to unblock Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Foreign Affairs Committee of the Belgian Federal Parliament has adopted a resolution unanimously condemning Azerbaijan for the blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), The European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy (EAFJD) said on Twitter Tuesday, January 31.

The Committee has also called on the Azerbaijani authorities to immediately open the Lachin Corridor.

Since December 12, the sole road connecting Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia - the Lachin Corridor - has been blocked by self-described Azerbaijani environmentalists. Karabakh residents have reported food and fuel shortages, while hospital patients don't have access to essential medicines, with only a handful allowed transfer to facilities in Armenia proper.
