Pashinyan, Michel discuss crisis amid Karabakh blocking

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, Pashinyan’s office reports.

The two discussed issues related to the ongoing crisis caused by Azerbaijan's illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor. The sides exchanged thoughts on recent developments, Armenia-Azerbaijan negotiation process, peace agenda.

Pashinyan and Michel emphasized consistent efforts to ensure stability and peace in the region.

Since December 12, the sole road connecting Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia - the Lachin Corridor - has been blocked by self-described Azerbaijani environmentalists. Karabakh residents have reported food and fuel shortages, while hospital patients don't have access to essential medicines, with only a handful allowed transfer to facilities in Armenia proper.
