ICRC visits Azerbaijani soldiers detained in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross have visited the two Azerbaijani soldiers recently detained in Armenia, Zara Amatuni, head of communications programs for the ICRC delegation in Armenia, told Sputnik Armenia on Wednesday, April 19.

"They spoke to their the families through the ICRC," she said.

At the same time, Amatuni noted that she could not provide information about their condition, complaints or demands.

“However, all such issues are discussed confidentially with the authorities of the country where they are detained,” she said.

Earlier, the Armenian Defense Ministry announced the detention of the second Azerbaijani soldier who crossed the border from Nakhichevan. The first soldier was detained on April 10 near the town of Sisian. The second soldier has been charged with murder.
