Pashinyan, Michel discuss humanitarian situation in Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President of the European Council Charles Michel spoke over the phone on Tuesday, April 26 to exchange thoughts on the military-political and humanitarian situation in the region.

Pashinyan emphasized that the steps taken by the Azerbaijani side in the Lachin Corridor are aimed at the consistent implementation of its policy of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno Karabakh and the complete eviction of Armenian from Nagorno Karabakh. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the adequate response of the international community to the actions by Azerbaijan that undermine regional security and taking active steps towards the unconditional implementation of the judgment of the International Court of Justice.

The sides also exchanged thoughts on the Armenia-Azerbaijan negotiation process.

The two also highlighted the consistent efforts aimed at ensuring stability and peace in the region.

Azerbaijani authorities on Sunday set up a checkpoint on the only road connecting the Karabakh with Armenia. Baku also maintained that they have informed the command of the Russian peacekeepers and the Russian-Turkish monitoring center about the installment of the checkpoint.
