Blinken on Monday, May 1 hosted peace talks with Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov at the George P. Schultz National Foreign Affairs Training Center. “Dialogue is key to reaching a lasting peace in the South Caucasus region,” he said in a tweet after the meeting. Azerbaijani authorities on April 23 set up a checkpoint on the only road connecting the Karabakh with Armenia. Baku also maintained that they have informed the command of the Russian peacekeepers about the installment of the checkpoint. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
