Moscow fails to comment on recent Armenia-Azerbaijan contacts

PanARMENIAN.Net - Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova has said that negotiations between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan are taking place in Washington without Russia's participation, so Moscow cannot comment on this process.

The diplomat noted that when the sides make statements and each side speaks, then it will be possible to form an opinion and make a comment.

Zakharova once again stressed the importance of implementing tripartite agreements.

“As before, we are committed to the implementation of all the provisions of the trilateral agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia during 2020-2022,” Zakharova noted.

On May 1, the meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, the US State Secretary Antony Blinken and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov took place in Washington D.C. The regional security situation, issues of normalisation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan were discussed. The humanitarian situation resulting from the illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan was touched upon.
