Karabakh ex-Presidents slam Pashinyan for failing to protect Armenians' interests

PanARMENIAN.Net - Former Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Arkady Ghukasyan and Bako Sahakyan have issued a joint statement, maintaining that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's intention "shakes the foundations of the Armenian statehood and is a violation of his obligations to protect the interests of Armenians around the world.

Ghukasyan and Sahakyan note that Nagorno-Karabakh has not accepted and will not accept the approaches presented by the Armenian prime minister. Nagorno-Karabakh has fought and will continue to fight for the right to exist. The former leaders are convinced that the Armenians of the world, both in the past and now, will be close to Nagorno-Karabakh.

At a press conference on May 22, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the territory of Azerbaijan is 86.6 thousand square kilometers, which includes both Nagorno-Karabakh and the enclaves of Soviet Azerbaijan. He said that there are several options regarding the enclaves - either after the signing of the peace agreement, an exchange of territories will take place, or nothing will change.
