Armenia wants border control should blockade endJune 5, 2023 - 12:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan has said that if the blockade on Armenia is lifted, entire control of the border services will be carried out by the Armenian side. Grigoryan said in an interview with the Public TV that Armenia's position on the matter is very clear, and expressed hope that all the partners will also move forward with this principle. The Secretary emphasized that Armenia's approach to the word "corridor" has not changed after 2020, and there are three main principles in the issue of de-blockade, which Armenia follows: sovereignty, jurisdiction and reciprocity. According to him, pressure has been exerted on Armenia for a long time in various ways to find solutions outside of these principles. Azerbaijan and Turkey have on multiple occasions raised the question about the Zangezur "corridor" through the southern Armenian province of Syunik that would connect Nakhijevan to the rest of Azerbaijan. The Armenian side, however, has repeatedly denied being involved in negotiations for the provision of a corridor to Azerbaijan, stressing that they have only agreed to unblock transport communications in the region.
