Turkish efforts to resolve Karabakh conflict irritate Baku

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian-Turkish convergence is good opportunity for anti-Turkish groups in Azerbaijan. Furthermore, Russia is closely monitoring all recent developments. Russia comes on hot foot both in Yerevan and in the Diaspora, Turkish Weekly journalist Sedat Laciner writes in an article he titled "Russia Dupes Azerbaijan?"

Russia holds Armenians' puppet strings, according to the author.

"And all news concerning the convergence between the US and Russia are exaggerated when transmitted to Azerbaijan. When the news reaches Baku, it is mixed with anti-Turkish comments and delivered in certain newspapers. Within the framework of these events, Turkey is accused of betrayal. In addition, the argument that Azerbaijan must look towards Russia is clearly advocated," the article says.

It says that Russia tries to control Azerbaijan with a mix of hard and soft policies. While trying to monopolize Azerbaijani gas transportation, Moscow does not even embarrass openly to threaten Baku. In this context, it also tries to create hostility between Turkey and Azerbaijan.

"Speaking of Karabakh issue, Azeri political leaders are not happy with Turkey's efforts to solve Karabakh Issue and Turkey's attempts quickly solve the problem anger Azerbaijanis. Current situation predicts nothing good in Azerbaijani-Turkish relations. When Azerbaijan gives Russia the rights to its energy corridors, even Turkey cannot save Azerbaijan," the article says.
