Two Armenian women starved to death in Sudan![]() June 21, 2023 - 10:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian Foreign Ministry has confirmed that the bodies of 2 Armenian women were found in Khartoum, Sudan on June 10 who, presumably, starved to death in early June. "Before the situation deteriorated in Khartoum, on the days of leaving the city, the two Armenian sisters were also offered to leave the city, but the older sister had mobility problems, and the younger sister (61 years old) did not want to leave the capital and stayed to take care of the elder [sister]," the Armenian Foreign Ministry said in response to a request from RFE/RL’s Armenian Service. According to the information of the diplomatic department of Armenia, for some time the Sudanese residents helped the sisters of Armenian nationality to find food, but later "the problems got complicated and the sisters were left without food for days." Sudan’s Minister of Health Haitham Ibrahim said recently 3,000 people have been killed across Sudan since the conflict started on April 15. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington.
