Karabakh: Parliament speaker joins President in sit-in![]() July 18, 2023 - 11:46 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - President of the (Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) National Assembly Artur Tovmasyan announced during an emergency meeting with the leaders of the parliament factions and chairpersons of standing committees that he was joining President Arayik Harutyunyan in the sit-in that started at Renaissance Square of capital Stepanakert. Tovmasyan noted that the sit-in is an extreme means of struggle, but not the most extreme. The complete siege of Artsakh [by Azerbaijan] leads to the worst extreme day by day, which will cause irreversible consequences," said Tovmasyan. On Monday, Harutyunyan warned that the people of Artsakh will resort to “tougher measures” if life for the people of his country does not return to normal and Azerbaijan's blockade is not lifted.
