Russia approved opening general consulate in Armenia’s south![]() November 3, 2023 - 10:53 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Russian government has approved the agreement on opening a general consulate in the southern Armenian town of Kapan, according to a decision signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The Russian Consulate in Kapan will be the second in Armenia. There is another one in Gyumri, the country’s north. Earlier, the Russian embassy in Armenia announced that it will open a general consulate in Syunik. The Armenian Foreign Ministry said back in May that the proposal has been approved since April. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
