Armenia’s defense budget for 2024 to grow 125% against 2018 – economist![]() November 7, 2023 - 16:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - In 2024, Armenia’s defense budget will increase by 125% or AMD 309 billion compared to 2018, head of the ACSES analytical center, economist Haykaz Fanyan said in an interview with the Public TV on Monday, November 6. According to him, the increase in the budget was facilitated by the economic growth of recent years, as well as improvements in administration. Finance minister Vahe Hovhannisyan told a Cabinet meeting in late September that defense spending for 2024 was expected to grow 7,3% year-on-year. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
