Armenia's industrial output down by 0.6% in nine months of 2023![]() November 7, 2023 - 15:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia's industrial output in the first nine months of 2023 amounted to over AMD 1.8 trillion in current prices, down 0.6% compared to the same period of 2022, according to the National Statistical Committee (via Arka.am). The industrial output in September alone amounted to about AMD 227.6 billion, down 4.3% from September 2022 and down 1.5% from August 2023. The mining sector accounted for over AMD 357.2 billion, 4.5% decrease compared to the same period in 2022. The processing industry’s output fell by 0.4% yoy to over AMD 1.2 trillion. Electricity, natural gas, steam and purified air supplies amounted to about AMD 235. 5 billion, 4.2% growth against the same time span in 2022, while water supply, sewerage, waste management and recycling grew by almost 5.6% to over AMD 22.2 billion. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision. Kerobyan has said that for the first time in the history of Armenia, the volume of foreign direct investments amounted to about $1 billion. Partner news |
