No place for USAID, says AzerbaijanNovember 22, 2023 - 12:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev has said that there is no place for USAID operation in Azerbaijan any longer. Hajiyev’s remarks came in response to a message from USAID Administrator Samantha Power who said that Azerbaijan’s military operation in Nagorno-Karabakh in September forced more than 100,000 people to leave their homes and move into Armenia. She said that the U.S. continues to stand with the ethnic Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh and announced an additional $4 million to help the displaced people. “On my recent visit to Armenia, I got to hear directly from many of the displaced people from NK about the tremendous hardship, and heartbreak, of having to flee their homes. We will continue to do all we can to support them and those generously hosting them in Armenia,” Power added. Hajiyev then took to social media to accuse the U.S. of standing with “aggressoor state” of Armenia. “Mask Off! There is no place for USAID operation in Azerbaijan any longer!” Hajoyev said in a post on X. Top stories Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
