HEYDAR ALIYEV INTENDS TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT AT COMING ELECTIONS

PanARMENIAN.Net - Appearing yesterday in Nakhichevan Parliament Azeri President Heydar Aliyev stated about his intention to run for the post of the state head in 2003. In his words, «Eni Azerbaijan» party and the Azerbaijani public asked him to propose himself as a candidate at the next presidential elections. At the same time he expressed confidence that the Azeri people would trust him again. Aliyev told the heads of the regional executive authorities not to interfere in the course of the electoral campaign, but to provide for transparency and democratic nature of the elections. «Such a famous politician as I am does not need falsification for coming to power,» - he stated.
