Armenia skips CSTO Defense Ministers meeting![]() May 31, 2024 - 12:24 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) countries began in Almaty on Friday, May 31, TASS reports. Armenia does not take part in the meeting. Yuri Shuvalov, a representative of the Organization's secretariat, said earlier that Armenia would not take part in the Council meeting, but did not object to decisions being made in Almaty in a limited format. Armenia has skipped multiple CSTO meetings over the past year. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees. Friday night 8 trees were torched along the beautiful main entrance.
