Armenian envoy attends U.S. Democratic National Convention

PanARMENIAN.Net - On August 18-23, Armenian Ambassador to the United States Lilit Makunts is making a working visit to the city of Chicago, Illinois, to participate in the country’s Democratic National Convention, the press service of the Embassy reports.

On the first day of the visit, Ambassador Makunts and Armenia’s honorary consul in Chicago Oscar Tatosian met with youth from the Armenian community in Chicago. During the meeting, ideas were exchanged regarding Armenia-Diaspora relations, particularly the youth programs implemented in that field, the main directions of Armenia-US bilateral relations and their development prospects, as well as Armenia's security situation, relations with neighboring countries.

Later that day, the Honorary Consul's Office hosted a reception in honor of Ambassador Makunts, with American and Armenian lawmakers and researchers in attendance.
