Nairit blast to have no environmental impact

PanARMENIAN.Net - Preliminary studies conducted on the territory of Nairit plant revealed no environmental pollution risks, Marzpet Kamalyan, Deputy Head of State Environmental Inspection under Nature Protection Ministry, told journalists. According to him, relevant specialists immediately arrived in the scene of action, and one of them even assisted in the rescue team's operations.



"The final results of blast impacts on water resources and environment will be posted on the Ministry's official Web site," he said. In that connection, Mr. Kamalyan added that burnt chemicals cannot have serious environmental impact. "As a rule, organic substances are not burned by fire. Emissions of small amount of substances are possible, but that doesn't lead to environmental pollution," he said.
