Erdogan: fighting terrorism in Syria is Turkey’s priority

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered a speech at the 8th congress of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) held in Kayseri. He emphasized the importance of combating terrorism and addressed ongoing developments in Syria, Turkey's state-run Anadolu news agency reported.

According to the Turkish leader, the Syrian people are taking decisive steps toward forming a new government that will shape the country's future. However, as long as armed terrorist groups continue to operate in the region, Turkey cannot feel entirely secure, he said.

Erdogan also reminded his audience that certain forces had turned Syria and the Middle East into zones of chaos in the past. He claimed these forces are attempting to repeat their plans, but the era of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) has ended, and this organization will soon be consigned to history.

“Terrorists will either lay down their arms voluntarily, or they will be forced to do so. There is no place for terrorism in Turkey’s future,” the Turkish leader concluded.
