Bayramov: no agreement on two points of peace treaty, talks ongoing

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, told reporters that negotiations with the Armenian side on the peace treaty are ongoing, but there is no agreement on the location and timing of a meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries.

He added that two articles of the document remain unresolved, and discussions are continuing, APA reports.

“There are still claims to Azerbaijani territories in Armenia’s Constitution and legal documents. This issue must be addressed,” he said.

Earlier, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev stated that Armenia must engage in dialogue with the so-called “Western Azerbaijan” community, referring to nearly all Armenian territory, including Yerevan. He also mentioned that Yerevan and Baku have yet to agree on two points in the future peace treaty: renouncing claims against each other in international courts and the presence of third-party forces on the border. Additionally, Aliyev noted that Armenia must amend its Constitution and consent to the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group before signing the peace treaty.
