Swine flu kills three in Georgia

PanARMENIAN.Net - At least three people have died in Georgia in the past two weeks due to complications caused by the H1N1 virus, also known as swine flu. According to Sputnik Georgia, the fatalities were primarily caused by complications from the virus, compounded by underlying health conditions.

None of the deceased had been vaccinated against seasonal flu viruses.

“This is a virus that can affect multiple organs simultaneously,” stated Levan Ratiani, Director of the First University Clinic.

Authorities in Georgia are also observing a rise in influenza type A cases, leading to an increase in patients seeking medical attention. Doctors report that many of these patients present with high fever unresponsive to medication.

Experts emphasize that antiviral treatments are most effective when initiated within the first 72 hours of symptom onset. They advise seeking medical attention promptly and avoiding self-treatment.
