Araghchi: Tehran ready to support regional peace, stability

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed Tehran’s readiness to contribute to the establishment of peace and stability in the region during a meeting with Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan.

Araghchi praised the friendly relations between Tehran and Yerevan, highlighting the importance of further developing bilateral ties, Armenpress reports, citing Mehr News Agency.

Kostanyan commended Iran’s position on developments in the South Caucasus, underlining the significance of ensuring peace and security.

"Armenia’s foreign policy is grounded in fostering good-neighborly relations and developing ties with Iran in all areas," Kostanyan stated.

During his working visit to Tehran, Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan also met with Kamal Kharazi, advisor to the Supreme Leader of Iran and head of the Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, as well as Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs.

Kostanyan briefed Kamal Kharazi on Armenia's foreign policy agenda and provided details on recent regional developments.

During a meeting with Majid Takht-Ravanchi, the parties emphasized mutual respect for each other’s foreign policy priorities. Kostanyan also provided an update on the latest developments in the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process, reiterating Armenia's commitment to the peace agenda and expecting the same from Azerbaijan. In this context, he highlighted measures aimed at enhancing Armenia’s resilience.
