First verdict on confiscation of illicit property enforced![]() January 27, 2025 - 15:13 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The first legally binding verdict on the confiscation of illicitly acquired property has been enforced, with assets valued at $750,000 and $190,000 being returned to the Republic of Armenia. The court ordered the confiscation of one apartment on Vardanants Street in Yerevan, one residential house in Arinj, Kotayk province, and monetary assets from Suren Vachiki Gabrielyan and affiliated individuals. The combined market value of the properties is approximately 300 million AMD (about $750,000), along with 56.6 million AMD (about $141,000) and €50,000. The investigation into Gabrielyan’s properties began on October 9, 2020, under the General Prosecutor’s Office. The Anti-Corruption Court received the case on April 17, 2023, and issued a ruling on July 15, 2024, fully satisfying the prosecutor's claims. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
