PM’s remarks on Armenian Genocide spark outrage![]() January 27, 2025 - 16:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Тhe Armenian Union of Russia described Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's comments on the Armenian Genocide during a meeting with the Armenian community in Switzerland as distorting historical realities. In a statement released by the organization, they claim such remarks aim to undermine Armenian values and provoke a shameful debate, Aysor.am reports. “During his visit to Zurich, Armenia's Prime Minister called for a ‘review’ of the genocide issue and for understanding ‘what happened and why.’ Pashinyan chose Switzerland as a platform where denying the Armenian Genocide, as well as the Holocaust, is considered a criminal offense. Despite being well-informed about events over a century ago, he is reportedly creating a discourse that, according to the Armenian Union of Russia, seeks to devalue national values and achievements. “Such statements desecrate the memory of 1.5 million genocide victims, who have been canonized by the Armenian Apostolic Church,” the statement reads. At a meeting with the Armenian community in Switzerland, Pashinyan suggested the need to understand “what happened and why” regarding the Armenian Genocide. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington.
