Armenian MP: world must not abandon Armenians

PanARMENIAN.Net - Hayk Mamijanyan, leader of the I Have Honor parliamentary faction, stated at PACE that "there is no law in the world that justifies the imprisonment and humiliation of Armenians in Baku."

He added that "Armenians are the gatekeepers of the Christian world and should not have been left alone."

"In the establishment of a new world order, all nations and countries are forced to pay a price. Armenians paid theirs through genocide in the early 20th century under the Ottoman Empire, and later, by losing over 300,000 soldiers in the fight against Nazism. That was the price we paid for the previous world order.

We have also paid a heavy price for the emerging new world order—facing Azerbaijani aggression in 2020, followed by ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh. This is an unbearable cost for our nation.

All of us here are legislators, and we know that laws exist for people—those who believe in their power. The people of Nagorno-Karabakh believed in international law, but sadly, Armenia’s current leadership and the world deceived and betrayed them, leaving them alone against tyrants.

The world must not allow history to repeat itself. The new world order should be based on values and laws, not oil and geopolitical interests. You may call me a dreamer, but I know I am not alone.

There is no law in the world that justifies the imprisonment and humiliation of Armenians in Baku. No law justifies the forced displacement of Nagorno-Karabakh’s Armenians from their homeland. No law justifies living under the daily threat of Azerbaijani aggression, intimidation, and hatred.

We Armenians are the gatekeepers of the Christian world. We should not have been left alone. Believe me, we need the world’s help and support," Mamijanyan declared.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that Nagorno Karabakh’s former political and military leaders, imprisoned in Baku, are being administered psychotropic substances. He claimed that intelligence reports confirm this, adding that the goal is to provoke escalation. Baku denies these accusations.
