Mkhitaryan confirms he won’t return to Armenia national team

PanARMENIAN.Net - Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Inter Milan midfielder and 12-time winner of the Armenian Player of the Year award, has declared that he will not return to the national team, RFE/RL reports.

He also hinted that one day he would disclose the real reasons behind his departure.

"The time will come, the day will come, and everyone will know the truth. What I can say now is that this was a decision I made based on my own feelings—no one forced me. It was simply what I decided at that moment, and I have no intention of changing my mind now," Mkhitaryan said.

He wished the Armenian national team success.

"I hope the guys do their best to overcome this situation. Of course, it’s not easy, but it’s not the first time we’ve faced such difficulties. They need to work, work, and work," he stated.

When asked whether he might enter politics after his football career, Mkhitaryan said he would leave that question for the future.
