PM speaks on regional issues at Georgetown University

PanARMENIAN.Net - During his visit to Washington, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan delivered a lecture at Georgetown University, engaging students and faculty specializing in political science, international relations, and security studies. He discussed the development and strengthening of democracy in Armenia, ongoing reforms, and the current regional situation, particularly the processes and challenges surrounding Armenia.

The Prime Minister emphasized the government's commitment to reinforcing democracy and combating corruption, highlighting the importance of developing institutions and their capacities in this context.

Pashinyan also addressed the normalization of relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey, underscoring the Armenian government's dedication to a peace agenda. He presented the 'Crossroads of Peace' project, aimed at unblocking regional communication routes.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister answered various questions from students and faculty members.

The government has developed and presented the 'Crossroads of Peace' project, focusing on enhancing communications among Armenia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Iran through the renovation, construction, and operation of roads, railways, pipelines, cables, and power transmission lines. All infrastructures, including roads, railways, air routes, pipelines, cables, and power lines, will operate under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries they traverse.
