Artsakh ex-official: Armenian authorities’ cynicism knows no bounds![]() February 12, 2025 - 10:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Artak Beglaryan, the founder of the "Artsakh Union," former state minister of Artsakh, and former Human Rights Defender, reacted on Facebook to the statement made by the Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly. He accused the authorities of extreme cynicism, stating: "What level of cynicism must the authorities have to both surrender Artsakh and shamelessly blame its exhausted and abandoned people for not fighting?" When asked by an Artsakh journalist when he could return to his homeland, Speaker Alen Simonyan responded: "You left Artsakh because it was unsafe, although you could have stayed and fought. But you left." "The speaker of the National Assembly spat in our faces once again. He and others like him will always do so and take pride in this "heroic" ability—until they are held accountable for their moral and legal transgressions and crimes. What level of cynicism must the authorities have to surrender Artsakh to the enemy while declaring Armenia’s non-intervention, and then to brazenly blame its exhausted and abandoned people for not fighting? So, should we have fought pointlessly to the last person so that now, in Armenia, we wouldn’t be fighting for our rights? And perhaps, they would at least "bow their heads" in our memory…," his post reads. Artsakh’s Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan also reacted on Facebook, stating that countless facts could be cited to refute Simonyan’s claim, but it would be pointless when dealing with an astronomical level of immorality, baseness, and cynicism. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. ![]() ![]() Partner news | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
