Peskov: Armenia’s EU orientation is its sovereign right

PanARMENIAN.Net - Pro-European politicians in Armenia believe that aligning with the European Union could bring benefits to the country and its people. However, according to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, it is crucial to determine whether this choice is mutual.

"Apparently, there are certain political forces in Armenia that believe aligning with the European Union—without a clear understanding of whether the EU itself is interested—will bring additional dividends for the country and the interests of its people. This is Armenia’s sovereign right," the Kremlin representative emphasized, TASS reported.

At the same time, Peskov added: "Both Armenians themselves and everyone else will need to figure out to what extent this aspiration is mutual and how the Europeans perceive it."
