Alen Simonyan addresses Levon Kocharyan's statements

PanARMENIAN.Net - In a recent statement, Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan responded to a briefing by Levon Kocharyan, a deputy from the Armenia faction. Simonyan noted that Kocharyan "allowed himself to speak about morality and villainy, mentioning my name."

Previously, in response to Simonyan's comments that Artsakh residents should have stayed and fought, Kocharyan stated that the authorities' "immorality and villainy know no bounds."

To reinforce his point, Simonyan added, "He also references the suffering people of Karabakh and mentions that perhaps some have houses in the Northern Avenue," as written on his Telegram channel.

He further stated that Levon Kocharyan and his father have no connection to the people of Armenia and Karabakh, as "neither of them has ever been elected in either Artsakh or Armenia."

"If you are so compassionate, why didn't you build your businesses, houses, shops, mobile phone stores, car showrooms, and luxury hotels in Karabakh? But I don't want to continue this topic much," he noted.

According to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Levon Kocharyan is not truly involved in politics.

"You are in the National Assembly for one reason: you came to shelter what you did in the past under a political umbrella. For you, it doesn't matter where an Armenian person is," Simonyan added.

"But forget all these topics and focus on your father's ongoing negotiations about giving Meghri to Aliyev, negotiations where you were discussing not only handing over part of Syunik to Azerbaijan but also a part of Karabakh, a part enshrined in the Constitution. In a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly, Levon Kocharyan, a deputy from the "Hayastan" faction, categorically denied the accusations that Armenia's second President, Robert Kocharyan, negotiated about exchanging Meghri for Artsakh, reports "Pastinfo."
