Mkhitaryan remains confident despite Inter’s defeat to Juventus

PanARMENIAN.Net - Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has commented on his team’s 1-0 defeat to Juventus, emphasizing that they missed several good opportunities in the first half.

"In the first half, we didn’t take our chances. After the break, we didn’t play at our best, despite spending a lot of energy—but that’s football," the Armenian footballer said, as reported by Armsport.

When reminded of his previous statement that beating Inter was "impossible," Mkhitaryan was asked if he still stood by those words.

"I will always believe in my teammates and our game. Even in the first half, we shouldn’t have been losing, and we could have scored a couple of goals. We paid for that in the second half. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find the net. Our goals remain the same, even as the season progresses. We always fight for titles. Just because we lost one game doesn’t mean we’ve stopped being favorites," Mkhitaryan stated.

He also acknowledged the challenges the team is facing this season.

"It’s hard to explain. We don’t know what’s going on this year. We fight against strong teams, but we’re working to win our upcoming matches."

Asked whether Napoli and Lazio’s draw affected Inter’s motivation, Mkhitaryan responded:

"I don’t think so. We don’t focus on our opponents; we focus on our own game. Unfortunately, we weren’t sharp for the full 90 minutes, and that’s not enough to win matches. We have to work harder and win games," the Armenian midfielder concluded.
