Yerevan representation aware of Baku’s plan to close ICRC office![]() March 5, 2025 - 18:39 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) office in Armenia has been informed about the Azerbaijani authorities' intention to close the ICRC representation in Azerbaijan. Zara Amatuni, head of communication programs at the ICRC Armenia delegation, reported this information, according to Pastinfo. "All issues related to our work and mandate are discussed with the respective authorities by our organization; however, these discussions are currently conducted exclusively in a confidential dialogue format," she noted. The Azerbaijani government intends to close the local representation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), as reported by ICRC public relations specialist Aurélie Lachant. Meanwhile, the ICRC is the only international organization with access to Armenian detainees held illegally in Azerbaijan. Every month, ICRC staff visit the detainees, communicate with them, and facilitate contact with their families. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
