Pashinyan discusses peace process with Council of Europe chief

PanARMENIAN.Net - During a phone conversation, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset discussed the partnership between Armenia and the Council of Europe, as well as reforms implemented with the organization's support.

The sides also addressed peace efforts between Armenia and Azerbaijan and broader regional stability issues.

At a January 31 press conference, Pashinyan stated that Armenia has made clear proposals to Azerbaijan regarding the unblocking of regional transport routes and is awaiting a response. He emphasized that the most cost-effective and realistic option is restoring the Meghri railway to connect Azerbaijan with Nakhijevan. He also proposed a railway link from Yeraskh through Nakhichevan to Meghri and vice versa.
