Armenian FM: captive release vital for peace

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan told the National Assembly that the release of captives is crucial for a comprehensive settlement.

He added that in ongoing discussions with both Azerbaijan and international partners, attention has consistently focused on issues that are either excluded from the peace agreement text or do not fit within the delimitation and unblocking processes.

"We, as before, now also consider that resolving humanitarian issues and, of course, primarily the release of captives, hostages, and other detained persons is a very important component for a comprehensive settlement," Mirzoyan emphasized.

Trials are underway in Baku against 23 Armenian captives, including members of the Artsakh military-political leadership.
