Iran lights up Azadi Tower with Armenian colors for Nowruz![]() March 20, 2025 - 15:09 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - One of Tehran’s most recognizable landmarks, Azadi Tower, was illuminated in the colors of various national flags, including that of Armenia, as part of the pre-Nowruz festivities, the Armenian Embassy in Iran reported. The tower also displayed a message in Armenian. “The tower featured a Nowruz greeting in Armenian—‘Շնորհավոր Նովրուզ ’ (Happy Nowruz)—highlighting the universal significance of this ancient festival and the centuries-old friendship between the Armenian and Iranian peoples,” the statement read. Nowruz, marking the Iranian New Year, is celebrated on the spring equinox, usually on or around March 21.
