Armenia refutes new Azerbaijani ceasefire violation claim

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Ministry of Defense has rejected the latest disinformation spread by Azerbaijan.

According to a ministry statement, Baku’s allegation that Armenian Armed Forces units opened fire on Azerbaijani positions located in the eastern and southeastern parts of the border zone between 12:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on March 20 is “not true.”

The ministry also recalled that the Armenian Prime Minister’s Office had previously proposed the creation of a joint investigation mechanism between Armenia and Azerbaijan to examine ceasefire violations and similar incidents—an initiative to which Azerbaijan has yet to respond.

Reaffirming its readiness to verify the authenticity of Azerbaijan’s reports, Armenia’s Defense Ministry stated that it is prepared to review any relevant evidence should Azerbaijan provide it.

As of now, according to the ministry, Azerbaijan has not submitted any documents or proof supporting its claims that Armenian forces violated the ceasefire.

Since March 16, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry has issued multiple daily false reports about alleged Armenian gunfire. Armenia’s Defense Ministry consistently denies these accusations, and the EU observer mission has also refuted Baku’s disinformation.
