Magnitude 2.6 earthquake strikes north of Spitak![]() March 24, 2025 - 17:45 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A 2.6 magnitude earthquake was recorded on March 24 at 3:37 p.m. local time (11:37 a.m. GMT) by Armenia’s Seismic Protection Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The epicenter was located 8 kilometers north of Spitak, at a depth of 10 kilometers. The seismic intensity at the epicenter reached 3–4 on the MSK scale. Tremors with a magnitude of 3 were felt in Spitak and in the villages of Shenavan, Arevashogh, and Karadzor in the Lori Province. The coordinates of the epicenter were 40.90°N latitude and 44.28°E longitude. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. David Vardanyan is the son of former Karabakh leader Ruben Vardanyan who who is currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan.
