Iran supports Armenia’s territorial integrity, says Araghchi![]() March 25, 2025 - 19:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hosted Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who arrived in Armenia on an official visit. The Prime Minister wished Araghchi success in his new role and expressed gratitude for his previous contributions to strengthening Armenian-Iranian cooperation. In his remarks, Seyed Abbas Araghchi emphasized that Armenian-Iranian relations are rooted in long-standing economic and cultural ties. He stated that these relations are strategic in nature and that current developments further underscore the need to deepen cooperation. Pashinyan noted that Yerevan-Tehran relations have shown steady progress, attributing their strength to the development of mutual trust. He emphasized that Armenia and Iran share naturally aligned interests, which serve as a solid foundation for expanding and strengthening ties. Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s support for Armenia’s territorial integrity and stressed the importance of preserving the inviolability of regional borders. The two sides discussed prospects for economic cooperation, particularly in infrastructure and energy, and underlined the importance of organizing high-level reciprocal visits to further boost bilateral ties. They also exchanged views on the peace agreement process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and other issues of mutual interest. Prime Minister Pashinyan reiterated that Armenia’s government is actively advancing its peace agenda. In response, the Iranian Foreign Minister reaffirmed Iran’s support for the peace agreement, noting it could bring stability to the entire region. At the end of the meeting, Pashinyan asked Araghchi to convey his warm regards to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian. In Yerevan, Araghchi will also attend the presentation of the Armenian translation of his book “The Power of Negotiations.” The foreword was written by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
