U.S. seeks Turkish assistance for peace in Ukraine, South Caucasus

PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has called on Turkey to support peace efforts in Ukraine and the South Caucasus, emphasizing Ankara's crucial role in these regions.

During a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Rubio discussed key security and trade collaborations. According to the State Department, Rubio urged Turkey to assist in establishing peace in Ukraine and the South Caucasus.

Rubio also acknowledged recent progress in bilateral trade and encouraged deeper economic partnerships between the two nations. Additionally, he expressed concern over recent protests and subsequent arrests in Turkey.

The Secretary commended Turkey's leadership in the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS and reaffirmed the importance of close cooperation to support a stable, unified, and peaceful Syria, free from international terrorism influences.
