Pashinyan lashes out at ex-Presidents![]() March 27, 2025 - 11:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - During a heated Q&A session in the National Assembly on March 26, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan lashed out at Armenia’s three former Presidents, accusing them of shirking responsibility for the 2020 war outcome and refusing to publicly debate him. He criticized former leaders Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan, and Serzh Sargsyan for declining his offer to engage in a live televised discussion, stating: “They wrapped their capitulation around my neck.” “That's why I say, come and talk live on air. They all say they have nothing to debate with me. If there’s nothing to debate, then sit down and shut up,” said agitated Pashinyan. “I’ll crush you against the wall, they’ll dig out the remains of your political corpse. Stop playing with my nerves. I’ll stomp all over you.” Pashinyan insisted that by 2018, the negotiation situation inherited from Serzh Sargsyan offered no other possible course of action besides capitulation. “Serzh Sargsyan was the first to shout ‘capitulation’ after November 9, 2020. But the negotiation content he left behind made any alternative path impossible. If there was one, he should have taken it instead of coming here announcing war. He’s the number one capitulator who brought the process to a dead end,” Pashinyan stated. He reiterated that the ex-Presidents decline to face him directly and instead send their allies to hold press conferences. “These so-called titans of thought always claim they’re too busy. They say they have nothing to debate, yet send their kids, grandkids, in-laws, daughters-in-law, and cousins to hold briefings. If there's nothing to debate, sit down and be quiet. If you want to debate, come and talk,” he said. Earlier, former presidents Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan, and Serzh Sargsyan had rejected Pashinyan’s proposal for a live televised debate, saying they had no intention of engaging in a discussion with him. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult.
