Armenia ready to sign peace deal, urges Azerbaijan to join![]() April 8, 2025 - 14:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia is ready to finalize the peace agreement with Azerbaijan and urges Baku to join this important step toward a peaceful future, according to Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan. Speaking at the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Arshakyan said that Armenia reaffirms its commitment to completing the crucial process of establishing peace. “In Armenia, we understand that achieving peace is a long and sometimes difficult process that justifies every effort. In this spirit, we have recently taken a significant step forward. Armenia confirms that the draft of the peace agreement with Azerbaijan has been approved and that the negotiations have been successfully concluded. The agreement is now ready for signing, and Armenia is prepared to finalize this historic step. We invite Azerbaijan to join us in realizing this important milestone toward a peaceful and prosperous future for both our peoples,” he stated. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has previously stated several times that the peace agreement draft between Armenia and Azerbaijan has already been agreed upon and is awaiting final signature. He noted that he proposed to the President of Azerbaijan to initiate consultations around signing the finalized text. On March 13, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry announced that it had accepted Azerbaijan’s proposals regarding the two previously unagreed articles, and that the agreement is now ready to be signed. It was stated that Armenia is ready to begin consultations on the timing and venue for the signing. Meanwhile, Baku has presented new preconditions and declared that it is too early to discuss specific dates for a meeting. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
