Turkey refuses progress with Armenia without acceptance of Baku's conditions![]() April 8, 2025 - 19:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey will not take constructive steps toward Armenia unless Yerevan accepts the conditions proposed by Baku for a peace agreement, said Çağrı Erhan, a security and foreign policy advisor to the President of Turkey. He made the remarks in Stepanakert, where Baku is hosting a forum dedicated to the "new world order." Erhan added that the pro-Armenian stance of some Western countries, especially France, threatens to prolong efforts to establish lasting peace in the region, according to Trend. “The decisions adopted by that country within European Union institutions against Azerbaijan—such as suspending the Azerbaijani delegation's participation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe—do not contribute to peace in the region,” he stressed. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said at the first plenary session of the EU–Central Asia Summit that opening Armenia's borders with Turkey and Azerbaijan after three decades of closure would be a breakthrough. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington.
