Armenia, Congo discuss raw diamond supply cooperation![]() April 9, 2025 - 13:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and Congolese Deputy Prime Minister Guylain Nyembo Mbwizya discussed cooperation in the supply of raw diamonds during a meeting held in the United Arab Emirates. The Armenian side expressed interest in developing stable and predictable supply routes. Papoyan emphasized the importance of potentially signing an intergovernmental agreement in a government-to-government (G2G) format, which could serve as a foundation for long-term collaboration between diamond industries in Congo and Armenia. “We are not seeking short-term profit but a stable and mutually beneficial partnership based on trust and shared value,” Papoyan stated. During the meeting, the minister also presented the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative, describing it as a key project for fostering expanded regional and international economic cooperation. ![]() ![]() Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
